Credit unions were built on the philosophy of “People helping
people.” We take this to heart at Wakota Federal. Volunteering in
the community where we live and work is important to us. Every staff
member volunteers often throughout the year. Here’s a little of what
we’ve been doing lately:
-
Mentoring students at Kaposia Elementary School
-
Teaching students about money, finance and credit at SSP High School
-
Participating as a Chamber Ambassador, welcoming new businesses and
visiting established businesses in the community
-
Assisting the South St. Paul Business Association with various
events
-
Volunteering for the River Heights Chamber of Commerce in various
capacities
We’re thankful to live
and work in this community and are grateful for the opportunities
and events we’ve been invited to participate and share in.

Supporting the MN Valley Humane Society
Wakota FCU has partnered with a wonderful non-profit organization
that also serves Dakota County - Minnesota Valley Humane Society.
WFCU recognizes that everyone is affected by the current economic
crisis in some way, including animals. Community animal shelters and
rescue groups across the country are seeing an increase in the
number of homeless pets they must care for and a decrease in the
donations they rely on to care for those animals. There has never
been a better time to support your local animal shelter.
